The Bavarian company BMW took advantage of its official Instagram account to publish an official teaser video for the all-new BMW
The X2 is not among the most popular BMW models on the market, but its more fun sibling, the The official, full version of this crossover is very close, as the automaker released the first teaser for the new X2. The official video is short and vague, but it reveals interesting design details.
The short video attached to this news was posted by Domagoj Dukec, Head of BMW Design, on Instagram. It shows the X2 from the side and we can see its coupe-like shape at the back with a sloping roofline with an angle.
During the mysterious official video, the car rotates to reveal its illuminated front end in the dark, and it is clear that the lighting protrudes around the front grille to have a different shape compared to the current X1. To some extent, it looks more like the grille on the facelifted 2024 X6, although the sizes are different. On the other hand, the headlights feature LED daytime running lights in the shape of a slightly slanted light like the letter C.
The new generation of X2 cars will be based on BMW's FAAR platform, which is also used by the current X1 and other models. There will be no engines larger than 4 cylinders, as the M35i xDrive model that tops the range will likely feature a two-liter turbocharged engine generating 312 horsepower. Lower versions will have gasoline and diesel engines depending on the region, with electric support available for many of them.
Last but not least, BMW is also preparing a fully electric iX2, which will be assembled in Germany starting later this year with the iX1. There's nothing official from the automaker regarding the specifications of the zero-emission crossover, but we're 99.99 percent sure that it will share its powertrain with the iX1, meaning it will be equipped with two electric motors that will together generate 313 hp and 493 Nm. of torque.
